Zines (short for Magazine) are a small, independently published booklet. Zines can be created in any size and about any topic. While small independently published booklets have been around since the 16th century, zines as we know them today, are largely based on booklets created in the late 80’s/early 90’s and in response to the advent of the photocopier (copy machine). Radical feminist, artist, and various social groups used zines to share important dates, mutual aid, and/or experiences of oppression. Instead of manually hand-drawing/writing/typing 1000 pages, artist could draft an original and create imperfect but inexpensive duplicates on a copy machine. The following zines reflect the 8.5” x 11” format that was commonly used during this time. These zines can be printed on standard letter paper, with any ole’ printer, black and white or color. Click on a zine you would like to print and a new tab with open with the file. Press ctrl+p, select Black and White or Color and print with no margins for the best results.

In honor of the late 80’s early 90’s zines, all of my zines are free. I offer these for enjoyment and education. Any time I sell artwork at an event, zines I create are given away for free. Please do not resell or reuse my artwork for profit. After all, cost can be a barrier to education.
